When I first came to Noida, in 2003 and reached there via NH24 expressway and then Akshardham Mandir to Noida link road. What impressed me a lot – is the view of greenery everywhere. There were trees on both sides of the road and in the middle divider also. Before that I was living in Lucknow, and at that time also Lucknow was not so green [ forget about present times - now there is absolutely no trees in Lucknow - thanks to "Maya Raj" ].
Then I shifted to Gurgaon due to my job. Then I rarely visited there. But now again I am looking to shift back to Noida and therefore I have to go there for some preview of the flat for rent. And I was shocked to see the Akshardham to Noida link road. The road which once has hundreds of trees, now has NONE!
I was not able to identify, if I am taking the right turn OR I came to some new place. It took me more than 30 minutes to identify the turns. The road which I traveled two times daily for 3 years – that also just 2-3 years back – I was not able to find right way.
And this all is happening in the name of common wealth games, I think.
But whatsoever is the reason, how did they justify cutting hundreds of trees in the name of development. When metro track passed besides the same road they did not touched even a single tree. You may also have seen metro construction work, they try to save every tree which can be saved. But here they rooted all the trees no matter if that was needed or not.
In todays world when we all talk about Global Warming and green lifestyle. Is this we are going to do? When Mayawati does something then we can understand that she is a crazy woman, but what about others. If every one will be crazy like her then this world will become a hell.
